Defiant Bloxwich repel OH efforts

Old Halesonians Hockey Club's first XI were left frustrated after being held to a draw at Bloxwich but the point did take them to mid-table in the early stages of their DTZ West Midlands One campaign.

Hales found it hard to break through a battling Bloxwich defence and were left to ponder on a lost opportunity for a further three points.

The hosts got off to a strong start, enjoying the bulk of possession for the first 15 minutes, which led them to issuing a wake-up call to Hales in the form of an early goal.

This set-back saw Hales pull themselves together and they spent the remainder of the half camped in the Bloxwich area, without being able to find a way through a solid defensive wall.

They were eventually rewarded in the second half with an equaliser from Tom Bulteel but despite dominating for the remainder of the game - and several close calls - OH were unable to break through for a second time.
