U14s suffer first loss

Stourbridge RFC U14s went down to their first defeat of the season against a strong Kidderminster side.

Kyle Lockley put Stour in front but Kiddy came back into the match and scored two unconverted tries by half time.

They were aided by the Stourbridge pack being unable to secure good ball and some indecisive tackling in the back line.

The second half was much the same but Kidderminster were only able to add one more try and Stourbridge were denied when Sam Baker ran into the post but was not able to ground the ball.

The U17s were dumped out of the cup by Whitchurch who came through to win 23-5.

A maul following a line out on five metres led to the first score for Whitchurch but the teams cancelled each other out for the remainder of the half.

The visitors extended their lead five minutes after the interval and things get harder when Stour are reduced to 14 men.

After Whitchurch go 17-0 up, David Palmer's try in the corner reduces the deficit only for Whitchurch to step up a gear and add to their tally with two penalties in the dying minutes.
