Actor Johnny Depp has spoken of his relief that his seven-year-old daughter has recovered from a serious illness.
Depp's daughter Lily-Rose was rushed into a London hospital at the end of February while the actor was shooting movie Sweeney Todd at Pinewood Studios.
Today's Daily Mirror reports that she was suffering from e-coli poisoning.
advertisementDepp, 43, told the newspaper: "It was a very bumpy patch but she has come through it beautifully and unscathed and she is now as healthy as she always was. She is wonderful.
"It was a reminder to us of how lucky we are to be able to breathe, walk, talk, think and surround ourselves with people we love.'' Lily-Rose is Depp's daughter with long-term girlfriend Vanessa Paradis, 34. The couple also have a four-year-old son, John Jack.
Depp added: "What got us through this wasn't the strength of Vanessa or me but our daughter and her incredible ability to make us feel OK even though she was very unwell. She was super-strong.'' Depp plays Benjamin Barker, also known as the murderous barber Sweeney Todd, in his latest film which is due out in the UK early next year.
The film is being directed by Tim Burton and also stars Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman.
