Nurse lifeline

A kind-hearted Cradley Heath school helped raise vital funds for Macmillan nurses by taking part in the bring a pound to work day' scheme.

Heathfield Technology College, Wrights Lane, was one of the collection points for staff from Macmillan Cancer Support staff.

The school's cash will be spent on helping finance four Macmillan nurses in Dudley and Walsall and other Macmillan staff.

Mandy Basterfield, citizenship co-ordinator for English, said: "It's nice to see the staff and pupils get involved in such a worthy cause.

"As we don't realise the dedication of the Macmillan nurses who improve the lives of people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support."
