Hugh O'Neill

Hi! I am Hugh O'Neill and describe myself as an 'ex-rolling stone'. The roll covered several careers, work in seven countries, various digs, seven homes, several sports, and an enormous range of hobbies and interests.
Two things have remained constant. From the age of 16 I have been a writer - writing about each and every job and hobby - at times, earning a crust from the pen (or word processor!). I now have 800 articles and seven books published and run writing and photography courses. The other is wife Eve, and our wonderful family ( 4xC's and 5xGCs.).
We live in an old cottage near Tenbury, spend time in Cleobury, ardently support Hobsons brewery, love the Wyre Forest, have reason to be grateful to the Kidderminster hospital; but want more public transport.
Consumerism greatly concerns me, as do social and governmental issues and this provides the focus for much of my current writing. I write as an activist (not a pessimist), hoping to raise awareness and stimulate action. The way forward must be balancing consumption with resource sustainability, sharing more fairly with all fellow humans, and eschewing selfish greed.
