The 2012 Monaco Grand prix is the Highlight of the F1calander and the race that every F1 driver wants to win.

A dramatic qualifying session saw Michael Schumacher take a well deserved pole position for his Mercedes team but the celebrations were short lived as he had a 5 position grid penalty causing an avoidable accident with Bruno senna at the Spanish grand prix.

The weather reports all week have said to expect rain on Sunday for the race but no such thing for the big day.

With Michael Schumacher’s penalty Mark webber was promoted to pole position for the race.

With the streets of Monaco tight and no room for over taking he was key favourite for the race win on Sunday.

The Monaco Circuit is notorious tight and with over 4000 gear changes for the race it’s a real driver’s circuit.

Schumacher looked on the money but eventually retired with a fuel pick up problem with his Mercedes and more impressively survived a heavy shunt at the start of the race.

Unless rain or any major impacts occur the pole man this time Mark Webber is usually the winner and he was, Mark drove a splendid race from start to finish.

78 laps not a physical race but more of a mental race, one lapse on concentration and you are in the Armco like Aryton Senna in 1998 as he have a massive lead lost his head and crashed just outside the tunnel and famously he did not appear for a few days as he went back to his Monaco apartment to console his disappointment.

I have been lucky to have been in Monaco for the last 4 years in succession but more importantly my family have always been with me, its a special place to be, so much history and so much passion for Formula 1.

My favourite corner is Lowes (Fairmount) excellent view and such a challenge to slow the 2012 F1 cars down To sum up Mark Webber did a great job followed by Nico Rosberg and then the last man on the Podium Fernando Alonso what a great race.
