Borough’s boxing young guns set to star at Civic

With the borough's professional boxing scene buzzing in anticipation ofDarren McDermott's shot at the British Middleweight title on Friday April 25, two of the area's young guns are also preparing to get into the ring at the beginning of their careers
Halesowen Boxing Cub's unbeaten Scott Evans and Dudley debutant Jamie Ball are training hard as they get ready to fight on the First Team Promotions Young Guns show at Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Wednesday, April 30.
The exciting Evans will be looking to make it four wins out of four, while former Priory Park Amateur Boxing Club graduate Ball is planning to send his large band of supporters into raptures.
Promoter PJ Rowson is still to announce who the promising pair will go head-to head with but said: "It's all set to be a great eight-fight card showcasing some of the best young talent from this region.
"Scott is progressing very nicely and we can't ask him to do anymore.
"He's an all-action fighter who we believehas a very bright future ahead of him.
"It will also be a big night for Jamie who enters the professional ranks on the back of a wonderful amateur career under the guidance of Paul Gough at the Priory ABC."

Meanwhile, McDermott's build-up for his big bout with Wayne Elcock at the Aston Villa Leisure Centre are right on track.
