Driver danger man jailed

A MAN who put drivers on a Quarry Bank road in danger and caused criminal damage has been jailed.

Adam David Rushton, aged 19, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to 12 weeks detention for causing large stones to be on Thorns Road which hit vehicles.

On Monday March 17, Halesowen Magistrates caged Rushton for a further 16 weeks for breaching a suspended sentence previously imposed for stealing from a shop.

Magistrates imposed a further five concurrent custodial terms ranging from 16 to two weeks for offences of criminal damage, obstructing a police officer, racially aggravated common assault and failing to surrender to custody.

Magistrates told Rushton his previous record aggravated his offences and justified a custodial sentence.

In sentencing, the court took account of 17 days detention already served on remand.
