STOURBRIDGE Theatre Company is getting set to bring to life Agatha Christie classic The Unexpected Guest in the grounds of Himley Hall.

The tale of mystery and intrigue by the master of whodunits is being staged between Wednesday July 16 and Saturday July 19, with performances starting at 7.30pm each night.

Set near the South Wales coast, the play sees a stranger stumble on an isolated house after running his car into a ditch; there he discovers a woman standing over the dead body of her wheelchair bound husband - with a gun in her hand.

The woman, Laura Warwick, swiftly admits to murder; and the unexpected guest, Michael Starkwedder, offers to help her concoct a cover story - but the plot thickens when he starts to wonder whether perhaps Laura did not commit the crime after all.

Tickets for the show cost £9 Wednesday to Friday (£7.50 concessions) and £10 on Saturday.
