A former dairy farm and cottage on the edge of the busy Shropshire border market town of Cleobury Mortimer are to go under the auctioneer’s hammer later this month.

Redthorne Cottage and Redthorne Dairy Farm are being sold separately by auctioneers Halls and each has a guide price of £100,000 to £150,000. The public auction will be held at Gainsborough House Hotel, Bewdley Hill, Kidderminster on Wednesday, June 20 at 6pm.

Redthorne Cottage, which is in need of renovation, has three bedrooms and a wc on the first floor while the ground floor comprises a rear hall, kitchen, inner hall, shower room with low level wc, sitting room with exposed ceiling timbers and lounge with a tiled fire place.

Outside there is a slabbed patio to the rear with a well stocked raised flowerbed, a lawn, parking area and a brick and corrugated store shed Redthorne Dairy Farm, located off Lion Lane and Bayton Lane, extends to just over 26 acres of fertile and productive pastureland with a range of former dairy buildings.

The buildings comprise a Nissen hut, a steel portal frame building, a lean-to, a grain silo, a dilapidated brick and corrugated iron shed, two cowsheds, lean-to timber and asbestos former cold store, two former dairies and a bottle store, a milking parlour with adjoining collecting yard and a cattle yard with adjoining stock yard and feed passage.
