Leading estate agents, auctioneers and chartered surveyors McCartneys have launched a photography competition inviting entrants to capture “the spirit of rural border life and property.”

The winning shots are to be featured in McCartneys 2015 calendar which is distributed to thousands of homes and businesses and the winning photographers will receive vouchers for photography shops.

And television celebrity, weather girl Sian Lloyd, has agreed to be a members of the judging panel.

Sian, who is a regular on the ITV weather broadcast, has featured on dozens of high profile television shows and previously lived in Mid Wales and has a huge appreciation for the area making her ideal for the job.

In addition to Sian, renowned, Ludlow-based photographer Gareth Thomas and McCartneys PR manager Zoe Herbert will complete the panel of judges. Gareth runs the Cat’s Whiskers studio in Ludlow and is known throughout Shropshire and beyond for his exceptional landscape and wildlife shots.

“We are absolutely delighted to have judges of such high quality involved with the competition,” commented Tom Carter, partner with McCartneys.

“With Gareth’s technical knowledge and familiarity of the subject area and Sian’s passion for Mid Wales and surrounds we feel that we have a perfect balance on our judging panel. Entries are already coming in and we look forward to seeing all the different perspectives of the spirit of rural border life and property that people can capture. ”
