Yazoo - Wolverhampton Civic Hall The odd couple of 80s pop returned as part of a reunion tour and judging by the reaction of a sold out audience it might not be their last one.
This was one for dedicated fans only though as the hefty ticket prices would put off the casual 80s fan due to Yazoo's hardly extensive back catalogue of top ten hits.
Indeed they only ever released two albums, both fully represented here, with Alison Moyet looking as big and beautiful as ever and sounding just as good.
One of the classic songs, Nobody's Diary, opened the 90 minute show and they saved two of the others, Don't Go and the timeless Only You, for the encore.
In between, the band struggled to get all but the most committed fan up and dancing, though the normal lack of charisma from Vince Clarke, looking like a data inputter on his keyboard rather than a top musician, didn't help.
But that's Yazoo, never high profile or flamboyant, though Alf's voice for me more than made up for the lack of charisma.
