A roadshow in Blackheath town centre last weekend raised over £16,000 for Blackheath Football Club.

Live entertainment, a funfair, competitions and street stalls were amongst the attractions at the event on Saturday June 21 with prizes donated by members of the Blackheath Business & Community Association including Wilkinson, Woolworths, Boots and Sainsbury's.

Heathfields College student Hayley Smith, aged 17, came first in the Blackheath's Got Talent competition with her singing performance, while four-year-old Joel Peakman won the Fancy Dress Competition dressed as Pudsey Bear.

Blackheath Ward Councillor Mary Docker, who helped to organise the event, said: "The rain stayed away for most of the day and a good time was had by all.

She added: "We're very pleased with the amount of money we managed to raise for Blackheath Football Club and are hoping to do the same again next year."
