Ace shredder Malmsteen bound for Brum

GUITAR hero Yngwie Malmsteen lets his Stratocaster do the talking and plenty of people want to listen.
The Swedish shredder became a legend, ranked alongside Satriani and Vai among the guitar greats in rock music, after a string of hit albums around the world.
Born in 1963, Malmsteen was inspired to master electric guitar after watching a TV documentary about Jimi Hendrix, he dedicated himself to the songs of bands like Deep Purple before moving on to explore the influence of classical music on modern metal.
After playing with bands like Steeler and Alcatrazz early in his career, it became clear to the Swede he should perform as a solo artist to fully develop his talents.
Yngwie Malmsteen will be on stage at Birmingham's Carling Academy on Thursday July 10.
