Bronx star on stage in Stour

NEW York City based singer-songwriter Jann Klose will be swapping The Bronx for Stourbridge when he stops off to perform at Katie Fitzgeralds.

Jann will be taking to the stage at the Wollaston pub on Acoustic Brew UK night on Wednesday July 16, as part of a tour of the UK and Germany.

He will performing numbers from his critically acclaimed new album Reverie - which was co-produced with Stewart Lerman and mastered by Dominic Maita (Bryan Ferry, 'til Tuesday, Bronski Beat, Fall Out Boy).

Born in Mannheim, Germany, Jann was raised in Nairobi, Kenya and Johannesburg, South Africa, until he was ten. His family then returned to Hamburg, Germany.

At 16 he went to Cleveland, Ohio, as an exchange student, returning to Germany for a year to complete his civil service, before making his way back to the States to start his music career.

To date he has released three independent CDs since 1997 - Enough Said, The Strangest Thing, and Black Box, the title track of which was licensed to Warner Bros for the DVD movie Dead Broke starring Paul Sorvino.

Placed in the same sort of music genre as Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, Jacques Brel - Jann has also been featured on numerous jazz, folk, classic rock and internet radio stations in the States, as well as podcasts originating in the UK.

The Wollaston gig, also featuring Evangeline and Marina Del Ray on the bill, kicks off at around 8pm. Admission is free.
