STOURBRIDGE indie rockers Ned’s Atomic Dustbin have announced are bringing their legendary first album back to the Midlands.

Jonn, Dan and Alex, along with fellow original band members Mat and Rat, are getting set to play the entire God Fodder album in Birmingham at their only club show of the year.

The band will be hitting the stage at the new HMV Institute in Digbeth on Saturday September 25, to bring the album to fans in the region who missed out when the record was released back in 1991.

Ned’s Singer, Jonn Penney says “Back when we first toured God Fodder, we didn’t play in Birmingham and that’s something we’ll be very happy to address all these years later.

“We can’t wait to christen the new venue and set a new bar-takings record.”

God Fodder catapulted the Ned’s to international fame, selling 60,000 copies during its first week in the UK and getting to number four in the album charts.

The band became a massive hit in America after extensive coverage on MTV, the album sold 400,000 copies and Ned’s played sold out shows in major cities across the nation.

The band reformed with their original line-up in 2008 and paid homage to God Fodder by performing it in full, plus a selection of other tracks from their early days, at London’s 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire last Christmas.

The show proved a huge success and the boys from the Black Country have been keen to bring the show back to a venue closer to home ever since.
