A STOURBRIDGE band are hoping their musical gems will turn to gold after signing a new record deal.
Diamonds, who describe their style as dance punk powerviolence, recently signed to independent label Allegiance Records and their new mini-album, Crystal Ravens, was released last month.
The band has been together for around a year and has already supported acts including Gay for Johnny Depp and Retox.
Vocalist Nathan James Coyle said: “Apart from being in a band we are involved with a collection of Stourbridge creatives who put on events under the name Carnage Club, basically we are trying to help turn Stourbridge back into a musical hot bed.
“Carnage Club concentrate on experiment rock music and have already brought Retox to the town, hardly a mainstream name but in the avant garde circles on a national scale that was quite a coup.”
Diamonds also feature Joe McCabe on guitar, drummer Bruce Goodenough and latest addition Adam Harper on bass.
The band seems set for an eventful future and their live shows are already creating a buzz among reviewers.
Birmingham Live said: “The hectic and sporadic bursts of screamy metal are impressively juxtaposed between serene and soaring vocals and funky bass riffs.
“The band keeps it moving with some great solid bass and drum work, while the guitar adds the melody - and the brutality to the sound. Definitely one to watch for."
