STOURBRIDGE based singer songwriter Kelly Louise is looking forward to performing in her home town after being confirmed as one of the headline acts at SMARTFest 2012.

The former Ridgewood High School pupil will be appearing at Stourbridge Town Hall on Saturday August 11 as part of the first-ever three-day arts and music festival.

Kelly, a versatile singer who performs her own songs and covers of popular musical numbers, is following in the footsteps of her father Jess Hope, who has been a popular figure on the West Midlands club circuit for many years.

She recently received rave reviews during a Midlands tour and has six self-penned songs playlisted on Stourbridge radio station 102.5 The Bridge.

Following a stint in the recording studio, she will be performing her new single Secret Song featuring producer Mitch Crane at SMARTFest.

Kelly, who was living and working in Burnley until recently, says she can’t wait to take to the stage again in front of family and friends.

She said: "It has been great to catch up with so many people again since I came back to the area and it will be even better to see them all at the Town Hall, which is an excellent venue.

"Much as I love the buzz of being on the road, there's nothing like playing in your home town; and also as part of a festival which will feature so much live music and talent right here."

SMARTFest takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday August 10, 11 and 12 at venues around Stourbridge Town Centre.
