Families are being urged to take the plunge and sign up to swimming pool sessions in Halesowen.

The town’s leisure centre is staging a number of activities in the pool as part of Dudley Council’s Summer Sportszone programme.

It includes lessons for beginners, mother and toddler classes and aqua fun sessions with large inflatables.

Beginner swimming lessons for youngsters aged four and over are made up of one week courses of 30 minutes each day.

They run from August 4 to 22 starting at 9am and cost £20 per week.

Mother and toddler sessions run every Wednesday from 10.30am to 11.30am and Friday from 11.30am to 12.30pm and cost £3.90.

Aqua fun runs Monday to Saturday from 1.30pm to 3pm while there are also dance mat sessions from Monday to Friday 11am till noon for eight to 11-year-olds and noon till 1pm for 11-16 year olds.

Sessions are open to people of all ages.
