STOURBRIDGE band Punk’d have are back on song after a dramatic line-up change including the arrival of a new singer.
The group has been together since 2005 and has a claim for genuine punk credentials as two of their members, bassist Dave Bass and guitarist Slob Vegas were in Birmingham band The Sussed, which played the punk scene back in 1977.
Punk’d has grown from a four-piece to a five-piece following the recruitment of new guitarist Gaz Explosion and frontman Fitzroy Barrington-Smythe who claims to be the 6th Earl of Demontford.
Although the new band members’ background may be open to question, Punk’d’s history is more clear cut, the band has built a solid reputation for authentic recreation of the anarchic sound of the 70’s.
Their skills have not gone unnoticed by the masters of the punk era, Punk’d has supported big-name groups including The Damned, UK Subs, The Boomtown Rats, The Undertones and The Stranglers.
People will be able to see the new Punk’d line up for themselves at a gig at The River Rooms, Mill Race Lane, Stourbridge, on Friday August 15.
