THE sharp tongued and high energy punk rock poet Attila The Stockbroker will be returning to Stourbridge as part of his UK tour.

Appearing at Katie Fitzgerald’s on Thursday, November 19, the poet will be celebrating the release of his autobiography ‘Arguments Yard’.

Fans can expect to see a lively mix of Clash inspired songs, hard-hitting topical poetry, razor sharp wit and radical politics.

Since he first stepped on stage in 1980, Attila has performed more than 3,000 gigs in 24 different countries, going on to publish seven books and release over 30 albums.

Mixing humour and honesty, ‘Arguments Yard’ is described as “the perfect antidote to the fake tan splattered and empty-headed celebrity autobiographies” that increasingly fill the nation’s bookshelves.

Support on the night comes in the form of two Midlands based social observers, The Humdrum Express and Cal Doonican.

The Humdrum Express – aka Ian Passey – is well known in the area for his brand of up-tempo acerbic pop and sharp poetic wit, with his last three singles being championed by BBC 6Music.

While popular punk-folker Cal Doonican will open the evening, with his mix of new songs and favourites from his critically acclaimed 2013 album ‘Still’.

Admission on the door costs £6, with an 8pm start. Copies of ‘Arguments Yard’ will be available to buy at the gig.
