AN unusual orchestra formed by a Stourbridge musician will be pulling more than a few strings at a Christmas concert in the town.
The Midlands Fretted Orchestra - which consists of banjo, mandolin and guitar players - will appear at the Bonded Warehouse in Canal Street on December 5, with doors opening at 7pm.
Led by Danielle Saxon Reeves, of Lye, who is a professional musician specialising in 19th century fretted instruments, the group will also be on stage with the Bournville Graduates Choir to present a programme of traditional, sing-along Christmas carols and classical festive pieces.
Danielle formed the orchestra, which meets fortnightly in Bearwood, in 2001.
She said: "We are one of only a handful of fretted ensembles in the country.
"Out concert will be a very traditional, jolly and family friendly event."
Tickets, priced at £8 but free to under 16s accompanied by an adult, are available from Collette Cross 07738 258506.
