AN award-winning Kate Bush tribute is set to entertain the Black Country crowds when they appear this week.

‘The Red Shoes. Our Kate Bush Story’ will take to the Robin 2 stage in Bilston at 8pm tomorrow evening (Thursday, January 12).

For many of Kate Bush’s fans who were unlucky not to get one of the 80,000 tickets for her concert at the Hammersmith Apollo in 2014, which sold out in less than 20 minutes, this will be as near as you can get to experiencing a concert by Kate.

‘The Red Shoes’ have been touring theatres and live music venues up and down the country and gathering a strong following on Facebook.

The vocalist portraying Kate is multi award winning tribute artiste, Lorrie Brown. She said: “We’re building a good following now and we have fans from around the world including New Zealand and California, but the biggest surprise is that we had a message come through from a fan in Holland who came to see our show in Bridgnorth.

“He booked his flights and checked into a hostel outside Bridgnorth from where he cycled in to see the show.

“We gave him a free ticket for the show and told him we would transport him and his bike back to the hostel after the show, it’s so touching that he went to all that trouble to come and see the show, it’s the least we could do.”

Lorrie is not alone in the show, she is joined by “the guys in the band” – four highly experienced musicians who are avid fans of Kate – Clive Johnson (drums/percussion), Geoff Kroll (bass). Fred ‘Fito’ Richardson (guitars) and MD Paul Welsh (keys).

Tickets are prices at £10 in advance or £12 on the door and can be bought by calling 01902 401211, or online at www.therobin.co.uk
