ULTIMATE Soul and Motown is returning to Brierley Hill Civic Hall this weekend.

Dudley CVS and Ultimate are combining once again to host the live music evening on Friday (March 10) after a trio of successful events last year.

Ultimate are back with the sounds, while civic hall operators and local charity Dudley CVS will run the bar with all profits going to the organisation which supports, promotes and develops voluntary action across the borough.

“Big Reg”, Ultimate’s DJ for the evening, said he is looking forward to spinning the best soul and motown, adding: “I love DJing these nights. We stick to the really popular Soul and Motown tracks for most of the night.

“Whilst I love some of the rare tracks, there’s a reason the songs we play are popular and that is because they are great. It’s that simple.

“We play a bit of Northern Soul, obviously – this is The Black Country – but we tend to stick to the classics as that is what most people know, love and request.”

James Challis, from Dudley CVS, said: “We now have a fantastic venue running really well, and it’s a treat to welcome back the Ultimate Soul and Motown night.

“Last year’s nights were some of our most popular, and Ultimate put in a great sound, light and video system so the hall looks fantastic.”

Tickets cost £5 in advance from www.ticketsource.co.uk, or £6 on the door, which open at 8pm.
