ONE of movie star Johnny Depp's favourite musicians is returning to Stourbridge next week.

Mishka Shubaly will be performing at The Duke William in Coventry Street on Friday May 5 as part of a UK tour.

The singer, described as "forever a favourite" by Depp, stopped off at Scary Canary in Stourbridge High Street in November and is looking forward to returning to the town where he will be joined on stage by Stourbridge's Dave Halama, from The Chemistry Cafe.

Shubaly's Let Me Back In UK tour marks the twin release of his brand new live album Never Touring Again, which was recorded in Memphis, and the ten-year anniversary re-issue edition of the album How To Make a Bad Situation Worse - which will be re-released through Invisible Hands Music on June 16.

As well as writing and performing music, Canadian-born Shubaly - who has put a drug and alcohol-fuelled past behind him to become an extreme marathon runner - is also a best-selling author whose current book I Swear I'll Make It Up to You is out now in hardback.

Tickets for the gig at The Duke are £6.50 and are available online (plus booking fee) from www.wegottickets.com/event/390508 or on the door on the night.
