ONE of the oldest brass bands in the Midlands is set to perform its popular summer concerts next weekend.

Langley Band, who were formed almost 140 years ago, will take to the stage at Oldbury’s Barley Theatre from 8pm on Friday, July 21, and 7.30pm on Saturday, July 22.

The summer programme, which will be the bands second series of concerts at the venue this year, will be varied with music ranging from classics to pop music and much more.

Conductor for both evenings will be the group’s popular musical director Cliff Parker – well known for his jokes and amusing tales.
