A STOURBRIDGE church will be hosting its first-ever two day music festival this weekend.

The town’s Grade I listed St Thomas’ Church will host ‘Live Sessions’ this Friday (June 15) and Saturday (June 16) which will see a wealth of singing talent from across a host of genres taking to the stage.

Leading singer songwriter Mark Northfield, runner-up in the National Songwriting Competition 2011; Katy Rose and the Cavalry Parade; renowned folk group Red Shoes; and Stourbridge folk group Abacus will be among those performing at the 276-year-old church.

Rev Ron Curtis, vicar of St Thomas’, said: “This is a church with a strong musical history and tradition, but it’s also a friendly place, and somewhere that truly belongs to the people of Stourbridge.

“This is our first venture into this type of music, and we are really looking forward to welcoming new audiences to this, our first Live Sessions festival.”
