FANS of Slade are asking people to 'cum on and feel the noize' at a special event to mark the band’s 50th anniversary.

The Slade 50th Anniversary Fans Convention on Saturday (March 19) starts at 1pm when the Wolverhampton's Slade Rooms in Broad Street opens its doors for a day of glam, glitter and live music.

Quizzes, exhibitions and acoustic sessions are all lined up in the afternoon giving people the chance to celebrate the band which rose to prominence during the early 1970s with 17 consecutive top 20 hits and six number ones.

Based on sales of singles The British Hit Singles & Albums names Slade as the most successful British group of the 1970s and the first act to achieve three singles enter at number one.

Tribute band Slade UK will raise the roof in the evening when the play a glitter-strewn journey through Slade's glam rock anthems of the 70s right up to the rock revival hits of the 80s.

Two-and-a-half hours of glam heaven with all the energy and power of Noddy and the boys will end a day of memories, celebrations and fun.

Tickets to take part in marking an milestone anniversary for Wolverhampton’s very own Slade cost £11.00 (£10 ticket plus £1 booking fee).
