DUDLEY grunge trio Buzzard will launch their eagerly awaited second album in their hometown before heading off on tour.

Valium Gorillas will be able to buy at the launch event, which will take place from 4pm at The Lamp Tavern on Sunday (October 29).

Frontman Jimmy Croutear said: "A well-recognised rock venue would be the usual choice of location for such an event, however we wanted to pay homage to our hometown and be different.

"We have been involved in numerous brilliant music events at The Lamp Tavern and the staff have always been very accommodating."

A stellar line-up of supporting artists will warm up the crowd in the Brewhouse function room before Buzzard take to the stage, including This Elegant Chaos, Zero Wasters and GG & The Flashearts.

Weak13 and Naked Sunday, who will be co-headlining on Buzzard's latest tour, will also perform on the night, which will be compared by Tipton comedian Martin Huburn, who has recently returned from a triumphant stint at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Buzzard's bassist Andy Vernon, said: "It has been a long ambition to go on tour with such great like-minded artists and we are so proud to be kicking it off with our album release".

Drummer Justin James, who also performs with Weak 13, added: "I am excited to be 'stepping it up' and seeing where the tour leads us. We love gigging out of town and meeting amazing new people.

"We really appreciate all the support we are given and have received so far on our journey."

The band will also be using the album launch to raise money for Oxjam Black Country.

A collection bucket will be passed around on the night and the charity will also receive a percentage of sales from admission and raffle tickets.

Revellers can either pay £10 for entry and a copy of the album or £5 for just admission.
