THE borough’s premiere production of Dolly Parton’s ‘9 to 5 – The Musical’ will be making its debut at Stourbridge Town Hall this month.

Cradley Heath Amateur Operatic Society, the oldest group of its kind in the Black Country, will bring the musical to the Stourbridge stage for their first ever performance in the town, between Tuesday, November 14, and Saturday, November 18.

Based on the 20th Century Fox Picture, 9 to 5 – The Musical features a brand-new score by seven-time Grammy Award winner Dolly Parton, including the blockbuster title song, plus a book by original screenwriter Patricia Resnick.

The show stars Violet, the super-efficient office manager who joins her fellow co-workers – frazzled divorcée Judy Bernly and sexy secretary Doralee Rhodes – to turn the tables on their “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, bigot” of a boss, Franklin Hart Jr.

In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest dreams – giving their boss the boot!

While Hart remains “otherwise engaged,” the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down.

Tickets for the show cost £14 and £16 and are available at the CHAOS box office by calling 0121 585 7380.
