Michael Schenker back to rock in Dudley

MICHAEL Schenker became a familiar name to rock fans in the 70s and 80s with bands including UFO and Scorpions.

After a turbulent time with UFO Schenker left the band in 1979 and chose to form the Michael Schenker Group (MSG) despite offers from established acts including Aerosmith and Ozzy Osbourne.

The guitarist, whose professional and personal life has been packed with turmoil, is back on the road after two new album releases in 2009 called In The Midst Of Beauty and Gipsy Lady.

The albums have seen Schenker reunited with singer Gary Barden, the first MSG vocalist, and featured contributions from Whitesnake bassist Neil Murray and Deep Purple keyboard player Don Airey.

MSG are set to play at JB’s in Dudley on Friday December 18.
