A man accused of stalking Kendall Jenner tried to contact the reality show star despite knowing she was afraid of him, a court has heard.

Shavaughn McKenzie tracked Jenner’s movements over a 15-month period and somehow managed to find her secluded Hollywood Hills home only weeks after she moved in, prosecutor Alex Perez said.

McKenzie had accosted Jenner twice outside her condominium and had been warned by police not to try to contact Jenner, Perez told the jury in Los Angeles during his closing arguments.

“He knew the victim was afraid of him,” the lawyer said. “And he still does it again.”

Perez urged the jury to convict McKenzie of misdemeanour stalking and trespassing charges.

McKenzie’s lawyer Taylor Shramo will deliver his closing argument on Monday. He previously said his client was mentally ill and posed no threat to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star.

Authorities say the 25-year-old defendant was arrested outside Jenner’s home in August after he followed her into her driveway and banged on her window while refusing to leave.

“She doesn’t want to be surrounded by security,” Perez said. “And she certainly doesn’t want to be stalked.”
