THE stage version of classic 80s movie Dirty Dancing, which has opened at Birmingham Hippodrome, is promising theatregoers the time of their lives.

Based on the popular 80s flick starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, the show made its debut at the theatre on July 4 and will run until Saturday August 25 as part of its first-ever UK tour.

Featuring hits songs Hungry Eyes, Hey Baby, Do You Love Me? and I’ve Had The Time Of My Life - it tells the story of Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman (played by Jill Winternitz) who falls for holiday camp dance teacher Johnny (Paul Michael Jones) during a challenging and enlightening summer vacation.
