Teens go back to primary school
 |
| Brook Primary pupils Christopher Page, Lewis Allport, Sophie Hill and Georgia Hughes practice their skills with teacher Karen Lambert and Stourbridge College student Matt Baxter. |
COLLEGE students are going back to primary school to help run a multi-skills competition involving hundreds of Kingswinford youngsters.
It is the first time Stourbridge College students have been involved in such a contest and it is hoped it will boost their leadership and organisational skills.
Five schools - Dingle, The Glynne, Crestwood Park, Bromley Hills and Brook - are taking part in the competition which develops and tests pupils' skills including running, balancing, hopping, throwing and catching.
Schools sports co-ordinator John Newbold said the contest would take place over the next three weeks, after which the results would be collated and a winning school announced.
"It's the first time we are using students to run it and we are very pleased to have their involvement. We want to get 100 per cent of years one to four taking part in this inter schools competition," he added.
