Pensioner killed in Stourbridge smash

AN elderly woman has been killed after a collision with a car on Stourbridge Ring Road.

The pensioner was left unconscious at the scene on Bath Road, close to the junction with Worcester Street.

The collision, involving a single car, a green Fiat, took place at just before 9am today (Wednesday May 14).

The unnamed woman, aged 79, was pronounced dead at Russells Hall hospital shortly after being taken from crash site by ambulance.

Police closed a section of the road from the Worcester Street junction until 11.30am while officers examined the scene.
