A BOROUGH charity is on the lookout for volunteers to help people with mental illness.
Dudley Mind, which is based in Stourbridge, needs befrienders to help sufferers overcome isolation often caused by mental ill-health.
Befrienders will be fully trained to help build the confidence in patients and help them get out and about.
Befriending scheme manager, Tina Swindles, said: “Mental health problems often leave people feeling alone and some need a bit of help to reconnect with the world outside their front door. That’s what this scheme does.”
“Help could involve meeting up for a tea and a chat in a café, going for a walk together or even accompanying them to an evening class.
