POLICE have issued a new CCTV picture of a man they want to trace after a teenaged girl was sexually assaulted on a bus in Stourbridge.

An image released last week, published in the November 22 edition of the Stourbridge News, showed a man police believe was a “significant witness” to the incident which happened on the number 246 bus on Tuesday October 2.

But West Midlands Police have now issued a picture of the man they suspect carried out the assault.

The girl was travelling from Stourbridge to Dudley at around 4.10pm when a man jumped aboard, sat next to her and sexually assaulted her.

The girl then changed buses and the man followed her onto the number 87 bus at Dudley Bus Station. She ignored the man, however, and he made no further attempt to assault her or follow her after she got off the bus at her stop.

Detective Constable Liz Skyte, of Halesowen Police Station, said: "We want to hear from anyone who can identify the man in the image or anyone who may have witnessed this assault.”

Anyone able to help is urged to call 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
