SANTA will be touring the streets of Kinver and Stourbridge whatever the weather, Kinver Rotary Club has pledged as fundraisers gear up for their annual festive sleigh outings.

Having brought their Christmas sleigh out of storage, club members are all set to tour the area to spread a little festive cheer while raising money for good causes.

Now kitted out with a new sound system - the sleigh is due to make its first appearance tomorrow (Friday November 30) at the Kinver Christmas lights switch on event in the High Street.

Its next outing will be on Saturday December 8 when it will spend the day on the Aldi car park in Wollaston and the following day it will be adding to the festive atmosphere at Mary Stevens Hospice's annual Santa Jog in Mary Stevens Park, Norton.

The sleigh will then be out most nights in the run-up to Christmas - touring the streets of Kinver, Stourton, Wollaston and Enville until December 19 - to help pull in the pounds for charities.

Rotary club spokesman Mike Deathridge said: "Last year we passed the £80,000 collected since we formed the club in 1985 and last year also saw us collect more than £5,000 in one Christmas.”
