A NORTON man has admitted he built a cannabis factory in his home to fuel his own drug habit.

At Wolverhampton Crown Court, Daniel Cox, aged 32, of The Broadway, was ordered to carry out 80 hours unpaid work in the community.

Cox was further told by Judge John Warner he must obey a four month curfew order and stay indoors between the hours of 7pm and 7am.

Sati Ruck, prosecuting, said police went with a warrant to Cox's home where they discovered a hydroponics set-up in one of the rooms.

The officers found 29 cannabis plants with a further 20 smaller plants in the kitchen, when questioned Cox stressed they were all for his personal use.

Cox admitted cultivating the controlled drug and he was told by the judge he fully accepted there was no question of distributing the cannabis.
