A STREET in Stourbridge will remain closed into the new year after a wall collapsed on Christmas eve.
Red Hill was closed by the collapse of a retaining wall which caused tons of debris to spill onto the road.
The road has remained shut and repair work has been going on throughout the festive period, with traffic diversions in place.
Councillor Judy Foster, Dudley Council cabinet member for transportation, said: "Our highways teams attended the scene on Christmas eve and closed the road off while our structural engineers assessed the damage. The road will be closed off until the new year while we assess the safety of the rest of the wall.
"We have also worked with the bus companies and nearby residents."
