NEW Year celebrations were all washed up for a Stourbridge reveller after she got stuck on a river bank.
Officers from West Midlands Fire Service were dispatched to the river Stour on Mill Race Lane after reports four people were in the water.
The call for help was received at 8.17pm on New Year's Eve, crews from Stourbridge and Smethwick arrived to find the group of three men and one intoxicated woman stranded on the river bank.
A fire service spokesperson said crews used a ladder to reach the group and added the men became trapped after they went to the aid of the female, who had jumped into the water.
