Kinver's Santa scoops more than £5k during Christmas collections

KINVER rotarians helped Santa scoop a sackful of cash for good causes during their Christmas collection campaign.

The village Rotary Club clocked up a whopping £5,050 at a series of events over the holiday period - only the second time their total has topped £5,000.

Collecting kicked off at Aldi in Wollaston before appearances at the switch on of the lights in Kinver village, the traders’ open night, visits to senior citizens homes, Stourbridge Rugby Club, the Mary Stevens Hospice Santa Jog and schools at Swindon and Wolverhampton.

The club is inviting bids from charities in the region for a share of the cash.
