TOP comedy acts have been lined up to grace the stages at Stourbridge and Dudley Town Halls in 2013.

Political activist and comedian Mark Thomas will be at Stourbridge Town Hall on Friday February 15 presenting his acclaimed Bravo Figaro, a bittersweet tribute to his opera-loving builder dad who has been suffering from progressive supranuclear palsy for ten years.

And Yorkshire comic and Edinburgh best newcomer Alun Cochrane will be performing at the Crown Centre venue on Monday March 4.

At Dudley Town Hall, Jethro will be back in town on Saturday February 23 and Ken Dodd will be putting on another marathon show at the venue on Saturday March 9.

On Thursday April 11 TV comic Jasper Carrot and Birmingham pal and musician Bev Bevan will be performing Made in Brum - a mix of comedy, music and banter.

Dave Spikey is set to make his first ever appearance in the borough at Dudley Town Hall on Saturday April 13; and Ed Byrne returns on Monday October 14 - with Jason Manford booked in for two dates on December 2 and 3.

Councillor Tracy Wood, Dudley’s cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “There are some great names booked for the borough in 2013, with old favourites like Ken Dodd as well as other award-winning performers like Mark Thomas who is bringing his acclaimed show Bravo Figaro to Stourbridge.

“I hope local audiences will appreciate the range of comedy on offer and find something to suit all tastes.”
