WORDSLEY Amateur Dramatic Society is getting set to bring a classic British character to life for their latest production.
The company is in final rehearsals for their version of PG Wodehouse's Come On, Jeeves where the butler is called upon to save an aristocrat from self-inflicted trouble.
The story tells how Bill, the Earl of Towcester, decides to become a bookmaker after getting into financial difficulty but comes unstuck when a punter wins thousands when a long odds bet comes in.
After fleeing from his creditor, Bill turns to Jeeves for help to sell his dilapidated home, Towcester Abby, to a rich but unhinged American widow.
Come On, Jeeves will run from Thursday January 23 to Saturday January 26 at Kingswinford Methodist Church, Stream Road. For more information visit www.wads-online.co.uk
