Kingswinford man in court after road rage incident

A 25-YEAR-OLD Kingswinford man has appeared in court charged with wounding after a vicious road rage incident in Woodside, Dudley.

Samuel Pagett, of Cot Lane, appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday) following the assault in Newland Grove at around 3pm on Sunday (January 13) which left a 40-year-old pedestrian fighting for his life.

The victim, named locally as Paul Currie, suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he has remained in a critical condition.

Pagett, who was bailed to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on April 9, is accused of punching and knocking out father-of-three Mr Currie - who allegedly asked him to slow down.

Any further witnesses to the incident are urged to call police on 101 or the confidential Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
