MP proves a good sport as she backs cricket club project

STOURBRIDGE MP Margot James proved she is a good sport helping out at a cricket club's latest building project.

Ms James called at Stourbridge Cricket Club to take a look at work on an urgent refurbishment of the club's changing rooms and shower area at their War Memorial ground in Amblecote.

The shabby changing rooms are getting a major makeover paid for with a fundraising campaigh backed by the MP.

Ms James said: "Good facilities are also essential in order to attract more young people into the sport with all the benefits this brings, and I am pleased to hear that the club is making great strides in this respect as well.

Harilal Patel, chairman of Stourbridge Cricket Club said: “This marks a new phase in Stourbridge Cricket Club’s history, and we are delighted to have Margot’s ongoing support.”
