Kingswinford couple lead support for their dancing son ahead of TV finals

A KINGSWINFORD couple will be cheering loudly and proudly for their talented son this weekend as he vies for the top title in the finals of a TV dance show.

Stuart and Sarah Priest, alongside Joe’s younger sister, Phoebe, will be leading the borough’s support for the 19 year-old dancer, who is one fifth of Antics Dance Crew, as they compete for the £250,00 cash prize in the Sky 1’s Got to Dance final on Sunday night.

The crew, also comprising 19 year-old Oscar McDevitt from Tividale, 22 year-old Matthew Grieh, Nathan Marsh aged 22 and 21 year-old Jordan Breakspear, from Birmingham are taking a second shot at the top prize after narrowly missing out last year, but are hoping to impress the public with their newly choreographed energetic street-comedy dance routine.

Joe’s dad, Stuart, a National Express engineer, said: “We are all so proud of him. It’s a great opportunity for them, especially getting to the finals again. They have worked so hard and they are getting such rave reviews from the judges and great support from the public, it would be great to see them win the competition.”

Stuart, of Rangeways Road, also admitted Joe, who is studying urban dance at University of East London, is slightly overwhelmed at suddenly being thrust into the limelight.

He added: “He’s getting recognised a little in London, but it’s when he goes to Merry Hill and girls are following him around River Island that he finds bizarre. He can’t quite believe it.”
