KINGSWINFORD has suffered a jobs blow after 78 workers were made redundant following the collapse of furniture maker The Sofa Club.
Administrators Duff & Phelps have been unable to find a buyer for the troubled firm, based on First Avenue on Pensnett Trading Estate, and the factory was shut down on February 26.
The Sofa Club was formed after TD Upholstery Ltd bought failed firm Kevin France Upholstery, which had previously traded at the same factory unit.
Administrators were called in on February 22 after The Sofa Club suffered cashflow problems but were unable to negotiate a rescue.
