THE manager of an Amblecote pub got half baked for Comic Relief by spending four hours in a bath of beans.
Dawn Ball, from The Little Pig, High Street, took the plunge for good causes during a range of events on March 15.
A karaoke and raffle were among other charity activities and a donation was made from beer sales - the event raised around £300.
Also in Amblecote, staff at Sainsbury's expect to rake in around £2,500 after a series of Comic Relief events.
Staff have been feeling the pinch by trying to survive on just £1 worth of food for a day, with the cash they would have spent going to the charity.
On March 11 six staff members slept rough outside the store to experience the hardships of homeless people.
Workers at the Sandringham Way store staged comical cake sales, a wear your PJ's day and a ginge-the-gaffa event.
Pupils from Withymoor Primary School held a joke-telling day for customers in exchange for Comic Relief donations.
Sainsbury’s Amblecote Store Manager, Vernon Dix, said: “We wanted to go all out to celebrate our partnership with Red Nose Day and encourage our community to join in the fun.”
