5:00pm Tuesday 19th March 2013 in News
STAFF at a Stourbridge butchers shop raised £225 for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day.
Nigel Higham, of Crown Butchers, and his staff also joined in the fun on Friday March 15 by donning colourful outfits and wigs and raffling off a hamper and a cuddly snake.
The shop, in Market Street, also features in a comedy zombie flick The Walking Jed, created especially for Comic Relief by Black Country theatre group Fizzog Productions in association with Venomous Little Man.

Meanwhile - schoolgirls Holly Bicknell, aged 11, from Brindley Heath Primary, and Amy Horrabin, aged 12, from Ridgewood High School, raised £69 by completing a 12-mile sponsored bike ride from Wollaston to Kinver and back – together with Holly’s mum Elizabeth Bicknell.
And Withymoor Colts girls under 13s football teams did their bit for Comic Relief by getting sponsored to play a friendly match at Redhill.
